Asics Kayano V

The PENSOLE x Asics Gel Kayano Trainer OG colorway was inspired by the Japanese Daruma doll. The Daruma doll is a traditional figurine that symbolizes many things depending on the color of the figurine; most commonly found in a red, gold and black color. These dolls are symbols of good luck and perseverance. Daruma dolls also embody goal-setting, so this shoe was made to symbolize ambition, growth and accomplishment.

Color & Material Design

The Kayano’s red, black and gold color scheme is inspired by the Daruma doll. Uppers are a light red mesh that’s topped by a darker red suede. Touches of gold patent leather coat the eyestays and heel. A white midsole with red GEL cushioning and graffiti detailing on the plastic midfoot shank complete the look
